Here are some proverbs which speak of the fools in this world. There are many!

He who conceals hatred has lying lips,
And he who spreads slander is a fool. Proverbs 10: 18

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes,
But a wise man is he who listens to counsel. Proverbs 12: 15

The lips of the wise spread knowledge,
But the hearts of fools are not so. Proverbs 15: 7

A fool does not delight in understanding,
But only in revealing his own mind. Proverbs 18: 2

Now, here is an example of an overeducated fool who has exposed his EVOLVED lacking in civility and humility. This is a common trait among the EVOLVED, overeducated and narcissistic naturalist!

I suppose at this point I could point out that being a surgical oncologist with a Ph.D. takes not only 8 years of college and medical school, five years of general surgery residency, three years of fellowship, plus the years it takes to get a Ph.D. I guess that means by Country Shrink’s “reasoning,” I’m smarter than Dr. Egnor, or at least not as ignorant.

Of course, the number of years I spent in training means nothing in determining whether I am or am not, in fact, smarter than Dr. Egnor, just as all of Dr. Egnor’s years of training say nothing about his knowledge of evolution. This is because his specific training in medicine and neurosurgery is largely irrelevant to evolution–particularly given that his training took place decades ago, before evolution became more recognized as being important to medical education. Even now, medical training shortchanges evolution, but 30 years ago it was more or less nonexistent.

As for that little bit about shooting fish in a barrel, let me assure you that Dr. Atwood is quite capable of it, as am I. Too bad the Country Shrink put himself in the proverbial barrel to be shot at by me on a day when I just so happened to be in the mood for shooting fish in a barrel.

All bow down at the feet, in terror, of he whom is in “THE MOOD” for shooting fish in a barrel! Praise Him! Praise His god, science, or Darwin, or both, or his uncle Chimp!! Down on your knees!

What a joke!!

Hey, physician, heal thyself! I doubt it!

P.S. I hope the photo above does him justice!

  1. In the quote you’ve provided above — and in the rest of Orac’s post — the claim is that Egnor’s training in neurosurgery is not relevant to our assessment of his understanding of evolution. So it would be a mistake for someone to say, “here’s this neurosurgeon who criticizes evolution, and since he’s a neurosurgeon, he must know what he’s talking about!”

Apparently you’re critical of Orac — but why? Do you think that Orac is wrong to claim that one’s formal training is irrelevant to assessing one’s expertise in fields outside of one’s training?

  2. I’m critical of his pompous ass attitude!

  3. You object to his tone of voice, then — not to what he says, but to how he says it?

  4. I disagree with what he says and “object” to the way he says it! Are we done yet?

  5. Carl,

What is it that you can’t comprehend about what I wrote here? Is it that I disagree with his evolutionary bias, or am I not being sensitive to his feelings?

Carl, below is the title of the article I wrote about, which slams, in a mocking manner, a man I know and respect:

“Respectful Insolence: When a single quote tells you all you need to know about a critic’s reasoning ability.”

Perhaps, in academia, this is normal discourse, but in the real world, where most of us live, this kind of “wise-ass” statement can get a fist shoved down your throat, as well it should!

This man is lacking any form of real discernment, as is evidenced by his clinging to a mere and weak theory like evolution, and yet he claims, in his title, “to know about a critic’s reasoning ability.”

    Then there’s this:

“Too bad the Country Shrink put himself in the proverbial barrel to be shot at by me on a day when I just so happened to be in the mood for shooting fish in a barrel.”

Too bad this megalomaniac chose, today, to beat his evolved-from-a-chimpanzee chest! If he hadn’t, then we wouldn’t be discussing this issue.

If you want to make excuses for this obnoxious man’s demeanor, then go ahead, but I’ve said all I’m going to on this subject!

  6. I’m nowhere near done on this topic, but since you’re done and this is your blog, I’ll leave it alone out of respect for you.

  7. Thanks!
